Pensacola Storm Resource Center Closes Friday

Pensacola residents seeking in-person help after Hurricane Isaias have until Friday, Oct. 30, to visit the Multi-Agency Resource Center at Bayview Senior Center. The center is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through its final day at 2000 E. Lloyd St.

The City of Pensacola closing reminder says the center connects storm-affected residents with agencies that can discuss food, water, housing, recovery services and other needs. It is an information and assistance site, not a food or supply distribution point.

What the Pensacola storm resource center provides

Need What residents can expect Important limit
Recovery guidance Connections with local, state and nonprofit organizations Availability and eligibility can vary by program
Housing and legal questions Participating housing and legal-service organizations The center does not guarantee approval or representation
Food and water needs Information about available assistance Food and supplies are not distributed at the center
Transportation Free ECAT transportation assistance by advance call Call during ECAT assistance hours and reference MARC

The participating organizations listed by the city include the American Red Cross, FloridaCommerce, the Florida departments of Children and Families, Elder Affairs, Health and Financial Services, Legal Services of North Florida, The Salvation Army, United Way of West Florida and Veterans Affairs. Additional agencies may be present, so a visitor needing one specific program should confirm availability before traveling.

How to request the free ride option

Escambia County Area Transit offers free transportation assistance to the center. Residents should call 850-471-6657 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and reference the Multi-Agency Resource Center, or MARC.

The transit call window is shorter than the center’s 7 a.m.-7 p.m. operating day. Someone planning an afternoon visit should not wait until the center’s closing hour to arrange transportation. The city does not describe the ride as an open fixed-route fare waiver, so callers should use the published number and request the MARC assistance directly.

What to bring before the final day

The city notice does not publish one universal document checklist. Needs differ across housing, insurance, benefits, legal and recovery programs. A practical visit folder can include identification, the address of the affected property, photographs or repair records, insurance information, case or claim numbers and copies of earlier correspondence when those records exist.

Residents should not delay a visit because every possible record is unavailable. Instead, they can bring what they have and ask the relevant agency which missing item is necessary for the next step. Passwords, original identity documents and sensitive account information should remain protected unless an authorized representative explains why a specific record is required.

Friday is a service deadline, not the end of recovery

The Oct. 30 closing applies to this temporary Pensacola storm resource center. It does not mean every participating organization or recovery program closes at the same time. Residents who cannot reach Bayview by Friday can use the Florida Division of Emergency Management and individual agency websites to locate current programs and contact channels.

The city lists pio@cityofpensacola.com for general questions about the center. Anyone traveling on the final day should verify the service remains open, confirm transportation early and identify the agency most likely to address the immediate need.

Friday’s practical decision is simple: residents who would benefit from several recovery organizations in one location should use the Bayview center before 7 p.m.; those needing help afterward should continue through the responsible agency rather than assuming the closing ends available assistance.
